Teacher's Council MeetingsThe meetings are bi-weekly (oocly: once every month) practical lessons and will take place in a rented Arena practice room. Newcomers and regulars are both welcome! While the regulars can take this opportunity to practice their abilities in conjunction with other Travelers or have light sparring matches to test themselves, newcomers may observe, discuss their abilities with anyone available, or even participate in the practice themselves.
New Format & Rotation ScheduleIn order to prepare the Travelers for the second round of the war, the Teacher's Council will shift its focus to Asgardian magic
and strategy. There will be three different formats for the meetings which will be cycled over the span of three ooc months to keep things interesting.
Format One:
This will follow the original format, for the most part, but with some important changes. The log will be divided into three main threads: General mingle, Discussion/Strategy, and Practice Area. The general mingle is for both newcomers and previous members for exactly what the title indicates, perhaps making it easier for newcomers to ease into the flow of things. The Discussion/Strategy section is new addition. Here is where characters can discuss any new, pressing events, as well as analyze the events of the past for better ways of handling similar situations. This section will be important for the distribution of information and strategy. The Practice Area section will still serve the same purpose, but will now be a place where characters can teach/practice any skill that might be useful on/off the battlefield as well as their Asgardian power. This thread will also have a sub-thread for the characters who want to get involved with the Medic Corps (the on-site healers & doctors) or for characters who just want to learn some first aid.
Format Two:
This format will involve the random partner assignments that was used before. There will be call for signups two weeks before the log is posted. Once characters are paired up, they can use their log thread for whatever they like, whether it's a spar, a discussion, or just practicing their powers together.
Format Three:
Using all of your resources effectively is an important part of warfare, which is why the last format will involve workshops that combine the efforts of three player organisations: the Teacher's Council, the Citadel/Guard, and Grimoire's Sigil. In this workshop, characters can figure out ways to combine their Asgardian powers, combat/weaponry, and runic magic (i.e. improving a sword with a rune). What's important to note is that combinations that would strengthen the city's defense are just as important as the combinations that would be used on the battlefield.
*If the healers feel they are not getting enough practice from healing the injuries acquired during these meetings, they can approach Merlin about scheduling a trip to the hospital.
